Hi.

Our mission is simple: to share inspiring narratives. We curate exceptional talents, selecting them solely based on the merit of their work, not fleeting trends. Join us in exploring the uncharted territories of creativity and celebrating the essence of artistry.

FEMALE ALCHEMY TATIANA CARDONA

FEMALE ALCHEMY TATIANA CARDONA

Tatiana Cardona lives, works and creates in Florida. Her art studio was an old gas station in the 1950's, and her she plans to turn it into a safe space for women creatives. Check out her campaign, ifundwomen.com to raise money to help her achieve this goal.

Your greatest inspirations or influences Tatiana?

I am inspired by an array of things, colors, people, posters, flowers, seasons, holidays, album covers. Literally anything I find visually interesting inspires my collections of work. I also love staying up to date on what other artists are doing on instagram, I have found the artistic community on Instagram is so empowering and supportive towards one another and I really value that.

Tell us about your creative process

My creative process is really based on the process of ceramics. Ceramics is ultimately a very slow art, the process requires many steps before you get to hold the final piece of work in your hands, this could take weeks or even months. This gives me lots of time to come up with new ideas, so many ideas in fact that I have to put most on the back burner until one collection is done and I can start a new one again.

Most collection ideas have been thought about for months or even a year in advance but I won't get to act on it until I finish what I'm currently working on. This year I'm really looking forward to some collaborations I have lined up!

How has this year affected your creativity and how do you see the world moving forward?

This year has been hard on all of us and it has truly made me even more grateful for my art practice and for the work I get to do. I think all of this time alone has given people the chance to reevaluate the way we do things and how we interact with our society. I have seen a rise in interest for handmade things and more ethical shopping which is great, not only for our community but for our planet!

Who do you consider to be an icon of our time?

It's hard to say who is an Icon of our time, I think history will determine that.

Do you think the art world needs to change?

The art world is changing! I think the years of the "starving artist" are ending, we no longer have to wait for a gallery to tell us we are good enough or put our work in a gallery at all. Social media is our gallery and we can determine our own worth! Galleries are still important in showcasing work but not necessary and I think this is a major improvement in the art world.

What does wellbeing mean to you?

To me, wellbeing means self-care and self-love. Focusing on nourishing your soul and your mind above all else will improve all aspects of your life.
