Pop Philosophy Futurism Sounds Like Mumbo Jumbo

BLISS WONDER & AWE ( I think its all a bit of BS, sorry Jason).

The climax from pop- philosophy futurist @jasonsilva ‘s “ Bliss, Wonder and Awe” live talk last night was when he “ ecstatically” quoted Flaubert : “Human speech is like a cracked kettle on which we tap crude rhythms for bears to dance to, while we long to make music that will melt the stars.” Making a point that philosophy is his cognitive turn-on, ( and maybe hearing himself talk too), the question we are left with is what’s ours?

Listening to him is fun and yet exhausting. I heard as others complained they absolutely didn’t get the point of the talk after the event but still queued to get an autograph. Is he charming, passionate about the world, cool and contemporary, some will say yes, I used to think so. Could he turn it down a notch with the continuous quote ranting on abstract pseudo science commentaries, maybe. Most of the time I don’t think he even understands what he’s saying, he just rambles and rambles on and on while people nod their heads not wanting to look confused as fuck.

He touched on humans as insatiable wanting beings and how scientific and technological development is happening too fast to comprehend in a holistic way, but this interaction with our world is changing even faster than the speed of his voice when he speaks (absolutely not kidding).

I was hoping he would go into more depth on the subject of FLOW but was still delighted to have some of his ideas contagiously reinforced in terms of being curious about the world, and turning passion to purpose.
