ENTHEOGEN, SHAMAN & ART
SHAMAN ROAD MEXICO An interview with psychedelic artist KAPPI
Kappi is a trippy visual/digital artist from a town in the Northwest of Mexico. His mystical work explores the spiritual and the divine. He began experimenting with art at seven and explored the visual arts while traveling the world. He's lived in Montreal, New York, San Francisco, Dresden, Paris and Phuket but after dealing with a terrible lung disease he decided to return home to Mexico. Here he began his experiences with Entheogens which he credits for saving his life.
Kappi has been living in Baja California working as a community instructor in marginalized areas teaching as well as currently involved in art projects for Young & Rubicam, Mercedes Benz, Heineken, Dom Perignon, Audi etc ...
Your greatest inspirations or influences?
In the digital realm I am very much influenced by all visionary and entheogenic art, specially artists who work with inner light. I believe this is a basic principle for all of us that use entheogens, some can get more dark.
Most interesting response to your work?
The most interesting thing I've heard about my work has come from the digital art world community and group discussion from Terence Mc Kenna.
