A CONVERSATION WITH MUSICIAN AND COMPOSER MIGUEL HIROSHI
Today we speak to Miguel Hiroshi about what we love most- music and inspiration. The musician who was born in Japan grew up in the south of Spain and now travels back and forth between Spain and Mexico.
I ‘ve been involved in Flamenco, jazz and world music where I had discovered the endless nuances of expression and acoustic sounds. Nowadays I explore the combination of those sounds with the vast multiverse of electronic music. I work in 3 directions, music creation, live performance and music education. I enjoy the 3 of them.
Miguel thank you for joining us today, tell us about your greatest inspirations pls.
My greatest inspiration in life is nature. I feel that there are so many different emotional states you can access once you are in nature. But not only the emotional part, the visual part is so vast, so rich, I get many ideas from connecting with nature. I believe that music is the universe manifestation through us, the musicians and the artists, as well as nature is.
Beauty is a truly rewarding inspiration. I am both an emotional and a visual person, I also get inspiration from people and my surroundings coming from those two parameters. The idea of creativity, the consciousness that we are creators with no limits, is very encouraging and inspiring too.
You’re creative process?
My creative process is without any doubt firstly empowered by inspiration. Inspiration triggers a dream, a visualization and that is the most interesting part, to bring that vision, that smell into manifestation. That part is exciting, when the invisible becomes visible. It is very interesting to see the results and compare them with your original idea. I love to create, the possibilities are endless, it is the best game in life for me.
How did the pandemic affect you as a creative?
The pandemic times are a tough road, very hard for many people but I believe difficult situations lead to transformation. The world needs changes and we are experimenting one right now, even if it is tough, I feel it is positive in many ways.
Personally the changes I experienced the last 2 years were very transformative and uplifting for me. On the other hand I try not to pay much attention to the outside and more to my intentions.
Icons?
Anybody that follows their intuition, their inner voice and fights for their dreams against the big theater that the world imposes on us today is an icon of our time for me, could be a famous character, you, or my neighbor.
What does wellbeing mean to you?
Wellbeing is a different thing for each human being. The key is listening to yourself. My wellbeing is connected to music and art, being in nature, caring about my body, resting good, being as free as I can in my mind, eating delicious food and delicious moments with beloved people. The practice is to have a balance of all this, that is an every day challenge.
Anything else you’d like to share?
I would like to invite everybody to listen, watch and follow my creations which are in every digital platform, If something touches you, PLEASE reach me out and let me know some words about your feelings. Thanks for spreading the work of artists and for this interview.
