CARNALE SPEAKS DIRTY: A BOLD POSITIONING FOCUSED ON FASHION AND EROS WITH A BIANNUAL RHYTHM AND A MILANESE LIBIDO

By Federico Sorrentino

A DIRTY JOURNEY THROUGH THE 5 PHASES  OF PLEASURE. A LIQUID FANTASY ABOUT  FLESH AND ITS MAGNETISM. AN ODE  TO THE SINNERS WHO SEDUCE AND ENFOLD.  A CELEBRATION OF THE IMPULSES THAT  PROMISE SATISFACTION.

CARNALE IS AN INDEPENDENT EDITORIAL PROJECT

BY AUGUSTO ARDUINI (ART DIRECTOR) AND SIMONE COSSETTINI (PHOTOGRAPHER).

We met 13 years ago in Milan missing a train.

We still live here. We still miss trains.

We work in fashion industry and we’ve always had in our mind to work with Eros. As creatives, we really feel the magnetism of Eros. As night-characters, we celebrate any kind of impulse that promises satisfaction. That’s why CARNALE was born.

Through CARNALE we want to bring a fashion aesthetic to erotic plots.

Your greatest inspirations or influences?

Music is the most powerful tool that seduces us. Then, if it’s Rock Music, it’s even better. It’s not just a matter of sounds and notes, we mean the flirtatious mood and the provocative attitude that rock music proclaims.

Doing things right is ok, doing them dirty is even better.

Tell us a bit about your creative process?

We generally start form the main goal we want to achieve ( the main goal of CARNALE is a secret…but we can assure you it’s not just making an erotic magazine…).

Then, we start visualizing the goal through images. Actually the visual research is the most important step in our process. We literally talk, work, share ideas and sketch concepts through images.

From the visual research to the final magazine the process is quite standard, but how any single photoshoot evolves is always different. As a magazine focused on Eros and Fashion, we decided to work with fashion photographers asking them to shoot erotic stories. Many talents were not so confident with this, so every photoshoot took an unexpected direction. And at the end, we really understood that Eros always causes a reaction!

How has this year changed your creativity and how do you see the world changing as we move forward?

To be honest our creativity was not affected by the circumstances. But for sure living so much the private spaces has given everyone the opportunity to investigate their guilty pleasures.

Who do you consider to be an icon of our time?

  • Carlo Mollino.

An architect, photographer, designer, aviator who scratched every field he wanted. An erotic character who literally merged flesh, technique and vision.

What does wellbeing mean to you?

Satisfying any kind of attraction and enjoying the dirty journey of life.
