Hi.

Our mission is simple: to share inspiring narratives. We curate exceptional talents, selecting them solely based on the merit of their work, not fleeting trends. Join us in exploring the uncharted territories of creativity and celebrating the essence of artistry.

LELLI MUSIC

LELLI MUSIC

new music we love, meet lelli

Lelli is a French song writer who grew up musically with the support of her brother, house artist JAW, Nathan Daisy. In 2013 she was a special guest for French trio DOP’s set at France’s largest electronic music festival, Les Plages
Éléctroniques in Cannes. In 2017, she moved to London to study songwriting and began writing music for electronic music with her flatmate and producer James McManus.

She’s recently released the second single ‘Roll (My Eyes)’ of her second EP, produced by James.

Greatest inspirations or influences?

The producers and I share similar influences such as ELIZA’s music as well as artists like James Blake, Disclosure and London Grammar. We get inspired from genres like Hip Hop, RnB, Soul and acoustic music, as this is how I do most of my composing.

In general, we get inspired by whatever is going on in our lives.

Lelli, how would you describe your music?

Our music is quite hard to describe because it shares so many influences with both the underground and the pop scene. Even if it can’t be defined by one genre or style, we always try to make music we enjoy ourselves - and hope that someone else does too!

This is why our next EP is ironically called ‘Popular Kids’, because whilst we try our best to fit in with what is cool, we can only make music that represents us.

‘Roll (My Eyes)’ is an expression of our shared loathing of small talk at parties. Despite this, we do hope that people will play the single at their parties.

How has Covid, affected your creativity and industry, and what are some of the positive effects you think will happen as a result moving forward?

Luckily, the EP was finished before the lockdown in London started, so whilst the lockdown brought with it a creative drought, at least we had the EP behind us.

I do believe that those of us who haven’t had a creative dry spell will have had lots of time to work on new music, so hopefully we will get lots of new releases and lots of new music to take inspiration from.

Anything else you would like to share with us?

We wrote and recorded this single - and the whole EP - in the producer’s bedroom. Even though it’s not destined for the charts, we hope that people will find in it something to connect with!

Thank you Lelli. Follow here.
