Artist Jitka Kopejtková
Jitka Kopejtková is a Czech artist and photographer, who's creative activity is aimed at capturing the authentic and worn posters on official and unofficial bill-posting areas on city streets. The original capture immediate access and unique atmosphere of the street as it mediates 's artistic achievement, can be classified among the so-called wave of 'New street art
Flayed posters are an artistic testimony today. Climatic conditions, completed by an anonymous, often collective action of people, create often bizarre visual connections in which the attentive eye of the observer detects images with artistic ambitions. Pictures that are a part of a lively and authentic art gallery in the street.
Jitka gradually discovered the charm of collage, as one of the few less used techniques and began to transform her vision into glued, neatly cut out images that raise questions and at the same time provide the answers. Her technique focuses on the classic collage art made out of paper using scissors, scalpel and tearing technique- and NO computer.
Following the tradition of Jiri Kolaf. Jitka provides evidence that collage is an attractive art technique which should not fall into digital oblivion and is something unique worth preserving. .
Jitka who are your biggest inspirations or influences?
Unfortunately they no longer alive; Jiří Kolář and Karel Trinkewitz. They moved collage to the highest floors of art.
Favorite websites or social media handles?
On instagram my favorite handle is Hand_Plesaure . I do however prefer books on collage, street art and decollage too.
Most interesting response to your work so far?
One of the most exciting exhibitions I've done so far was with the City of Prague Museum in 2015. There was a full report on my work on state tv and I continue to collaborate with the museum conducting lectures and workshops for schools and the public.
A Dream Project for you?
An exhibition at the Guggenheim Museum, which has repeatedly exhibited Czech artist, Jiří Kolář.

Collage is varied as life itself, you can assemble it according to their possibilities, situations, and even moods, it's up to you.
