In today's post I want to introduce amazing jewellery designer Oleana from Argentina who launched a collection of vintage inspired jewels using the architecture of Buenos Aires as the main inspiration behind the collection.

I also want to highlight and update on two previous designers  I've featured before; Halleh and the fabulous Mukhi Sisters.

Oleana tell us about yourself and how you started? I debuted my premiere collection 10 years ago in Recoleta, Buenos Aires, a district known for its french architecture “Paris Style”. I am fourth generation from a family of jewelers, but I went to college for a finance career in the U.S. After many years, I returned to my eternal passion and family business, the jewelry world.

I am proud of taking Oleana's jewelry to the next level, now sold in many countries including Uruguay, Dominican Republic, United States, England and France.

In my last stage I ‘ve been generating projects together with contemporary visual artists. “Carnivora” project Art-a-Porter jewelry, along with Toto Paula Blake has travelled many international art fairs and museum shops, currently for sale at Malba museum store (BA) and at the Houston’s Museum of Fine Arts store.

Greatest inspirations or influences?

My inspirations are outrageous women from the arts and culture.

For instance, Simone de Beauvoir or Frida Kahlo , both irreverent in their ideas and style . Also, actresses like Marion Cotillard and Cate Blanchet, they express multifacetic roles and pull out an elegant or a fresh casual look in great manner.

Favorite publications, websites, bloggers?

I read Art Forum and Architectural Digest magazines, for inspiration. Yes, I have time for printed magazines and collect them, sometimes you need some old school in your life. I like blogs that are fresh and spontaneous, I also like Garance Dore’s blog a lot. For website I like www.underoursky.com, a cherry picked selection of Argentine design – which we happen to take part-, by Argentine socialite Sofia Sanchez Barrenechea.

How do you describe the O L E A N A girl? What is she like?

She is a sophisticated globe trotter, she feels good in her own shoes and finds inspiration in small things in life. She also values sentimental treasures, objects that tell the story about her life, her family and her memories.

Anything else you would like to share with our audience?

I would like to encourage them to spend time curating their personal collection of art, clothing, accesories; there are so many exciting designers around and the world is our marketplace these days.

In other news I want to share that Halleh has just launched a new and gorgeous website. Have a look-

AND  just in time for Valentines Day the amazing Mukhi sisters created an original app called The Love Translator - finally THE solution for all guys out there...........!

Men and women don’t always get each other. In fact, sometimes it’s like we’re speaking two completely different languages.

That's why Mukhi Sisters Jewelry decided to take matters into their own hands this year so that there won't be some unhappy ladies out there spending their romantic evenings with a bunch of sad looking roses, some cheesy heart-shaped chocolate boxes and one confused boyfriend/husband who “thought” he understood his woman when she said “let’s just do something simple this year”.

Then came the  Love Translator – a genius app to help men understand the difference between what a woman says and what she really means.

All he has to do is type in what she said to get a direct translation from Female to English. And where words fail – he can click to Break the Language Barrier for a suggestion every woman understands – jewelry.
