VIDEOS THAT ROCK

These are the Top Music Videos Ever Created

Of course Michael Jackson’s Thriller should be on this list, but its such a given, I wanted to share something a little different and the videos that really impacted me the most growing up.

I think number one video on this list has to go to Aphex Twin for Windowlicker, which I’ve probably watched over a hundred times. Trippy AF doesn’t even begin to describe this masterpiece. The ten-minute homage to gangsta-rap videos, truly pushes it the furthest, if only because of that incredibly disturbing and haunting face. In the intro alone, before the song ever starts, 127 different curse words are used, before devolving into a raunchy and disturbing parade of Aphex Twin's face. It will creep you out, believe me.

The video was restricted on MTV, and in the original's place were two variations—a bleeped out version and another that starts with all the opening dialogue removed. Still, MTV was fined in the U.K. for airing the original on its European channel before 9 pm.

This video by Prodigy “ Smack My Bitch Up” was banned on MTV, It was released in November 1997 as the third and final single from the album The Fat of the Land. The song was voted by Mixmag readers as the third greatest dance track of all time. The song caused considerable controversy because of its suggestive title and explicit music video, which depicted scenes of drunken and drug-fuelled sexual excess and violence. In 2010, the song was voted as the most controversial of all-time in a survey conducted by PRS for Music.

Here’s one of the only “ recent” videos on my list which goes to Childish Gambino.
