TALE OF US, DJ TENNIS & THUGFUCKER

Unusual and improbable events in the universe have compelled the founders of Life and Death  to travel to Miami in December for Art Basel and embark upon the creation of a rare experience to explore the wonders and raw emotions of life and death.

Based also on the vision of bringing the strange and undisguised sounds of the label to full sensory dimension, this 12 hour affair  on Dec 7th shall not resemble a conventional club night nor yet another label showcase; experiments in the form of numerous visual installations and video art will be part of the physical transformations to The Electric Pickle's three main performance areas, all of which will be equipped with cutting edge sound systems to ensure that clubbers and art enthusiasts alike will enjoy the full spectrum of this exquisite multi-sensory experience.

As one of the most coveted independent music labels of the present, Life and Death was born out of the attempt of giving light to innumerable amounts of archived music at the end of 2010. Their music in most cases hovers around a dark pop and house approach with a definite psychedelic sensibility. Elegant styles stemming from obscurity and indirectness are the result of a desire for non-immediate dance floor bombs, rather melodic and tasteful tunes built around the concept of incorporating influences of its Italian Cosmic Disco and UK/US New Wave and Indie heritage, and without the intention of "reviving" old sounds -- instead creating new ones. It's an approach that may seem less peculiar after exploring the eclectic musical backgrounds of its founders Manfredi Romano (aka DJ Tennis) a longtime soundtrack producer, and Greg Oreck, one half of New York house duo Thugfucker. The Family is completed by Karm and Matteo Milleri, aka Tale of Us. After just a few releases, Life and Death's sound is one that's found its way into the bacchanalian fray of some of the best parties worldwide.
