SWEDEN'S EMERGING ART
SEART AN EXHIBITION OF SWEDEN’S EMERGING ART
No Picnic is a design agency and incredible minimal space that is hosting a pop-up exhibition featuring 14 of Sweden’s emerging young artists and a variety of works that include sculptures, paintings, installations, & video art selected by SEART from this spring’s graduate exhibitions. The artists will be present at the opening reception and their work will examine subjects as diverse as revolution, personal space, interaction, resistance, cataloguing, inspiration, female beauty and even the evolution of eating behaviours.
SEART is not a gallery, nor is it a group of curators. SEART is an international initiative, the brainchild of five friends, each working in different creative fields. They plan to expand by producing and organizing these events in Sweden and abroad.
“Art is our foremost source of inspiration, and we have chosen 14 works that trigger us emotionally,” says designer Margarita Bergfeldt Matiz, one of the founders of SEART. “SEART’s raison d’être is to give young artists the possibility to be seen in new contexts and to get more people from various backgrounds to see and experience really interesting, thought-provoking and inspiring art.”
The participating artists in SEART are Aiko Kubo, Anna Åstrand, Bianca Nabuco, Christofer Blixt, David Larsson, Hanna Zelleke Collin, Heyjoo Yang, Jakob Solgren, Julius Gothlin, Kristofer Hedberg, Lilian de Souza, Monika Strasser, Pål Sommelius and Supawan Sihapoompichit.
Opening reception on Thursday 6 September, 6 p.m.–10 p.m. Exhibition, 7–9 September
Where: No Picnic, Storgatan 23 C, Stockholm
