Didn't get enough art in Miami?
This coming January 2011, Art Stage Singapore will bring together some of Asia’s top artists, (including Ai Weiwei, Subodh Gupta, Fang Lijun and Takashi Murakami), as well as some of the top International collectors, promising a fair with a strong Asian identity.
ASIA IS ON THE WAY TO BECOME AN IMPORTANT PLATFORM OF THE INTERNATIONAL ART MARKET.
No other continent has a comparable potential and comparable perspectives. Art Stage Singapore is the perfect response to its demands and needs. It is an international top event that supports and enables the connection of the rising art scenes of Asia, inclusive its galleries, collectors, art institutions and art fairs, with those worldwide and serves as an important cultural bridge between the East and the Western hemispheres.” -Lorenzo Rudolf/Director Art Stage Singapore/Former Director/Founder Art Basel
The fair’s exhibitors will comprise a balance between established and young galleries and artists. Visitors can look forward to stunning masterpieces from established names while special projects by young and emerging artists will present opportunities for discovering future stars of the art world. The exhibition will present works from some of the top collectors in Asia, like the Korean collector Kim Chang-il, Indonesian collector Deddy Kusuma, collectors from India Lekha and Anupam Poddar; and the Singaporean collector Jackson See. Keep in mind that in Asia it is not common to have access to contemporary Asian art from private collections.
