I recently came across these beautiful 3D currency collages by Brazilian multidisciplinary artist Rodrigo Torres . Using currencies from all over the world, the artist from Rio de Janeiro, juxtaposes meticulous layers of patterns and textures to create intricate collages that comment on  cultures and economies.“I try to intervene in a way that has something to do with the fabrication process of the object.” he says, “for example, in the case of banknotes, I make some interventions with an X-Acto knife, very meticulously, because it has to do with the work of the engraver, what he has done there.”

Rodrigos’ work was chosen by Art Basel Switzerland to be featured in June’s Art Feature sector in Switzerland.
