This year I decided to cover Fashion Night Out in the meatpacking and I'm so happy Idid because I absolutely fell in love with jewelry designer Ippolita Rostagno's art exhibition Reliquary at the Highline.

The Florentine, but New York-based artisan exhibited hand-blown glass and steel sculptures that resemble body parts but with a video element positioned inside which apparently took four years to create. The sculptures engage the viewer in a dialog about various elements of the human experience, including Love, War, Strength and Fragility, Curiosity, Empathy, Religion and Desire.

“I have always been interested in the power of religious iconography–in the idea that humans can invest inanimate objects with supernatural powers just so that they can believe in them–a suspension of disbelief in the realm of the spirit.
