" Some of my favourite people, I met either at ReSolute or through ReSolute. I feel we're like one big family and regularly find a way to connect somewhere in the world." - Leila

Nektarios Ioannidis is the founder of ReSolute, a legendary underground electronic music collective and event promoter based in New York City. Since launching in 2007, ReSolute has become famous for its marathon afterhours events: each usually starts before midnight and flows straight into the next day's evening hours. Production is always on point, and venues have always been unexpected: abandoned warehouses, rooftops with panoramic views of Manhattan, tents, lofts, basements, and boats with captains and without.

He did not give much thought to the name at first: it was just playful etymological brainstorming. But as time went on, the name became so much more meaningful and appropriate. It set the tone for everything.

ReSolute has expanded from New York to Berlin, Paris, London, and Moscow. Their associated record label is active. The events run to 25 hours and beyond. They are constantly on the search for upcoming, cutting-edge, not-so-well-known artists. They are impossible to squeeze into any one style or genre.

Favourite ReSolute event?

Almost every single one. At each event the reaction is typically the same: "wow, this was the best ReSolute!" Nowadays a very good party is not enough. We are proud to say we have spoiled ourselves and people in the scene, and inspired others. We pride ourselves on the fact that ReSolute is one of a kind and not one of the rest.

"If I must choose one in particular, it would be my birthday party last July: the Boat without a Captain. An amazing lineup, an original venue (a boat hidden in the industrial creeks of Brooklyn), special transportation to the venue, a 25-hour time frame, not kidding, and of course the incredible people that always set up the perfect vibe. As my good friend Alexi Delano would say: the vibe was dropping from the ceiling."

02

Favourite DJs and producers?

There are so many. I am really glad I cannot name just a few.

As cliche as this may sound, I finally realised why Ricardo Villalobos is the favourite of so many when I saw him last week at Cocoon night during Sonar. Robag Wruhme from the former Wighnomy Brothers: what a producer. And Maetric!!

03

Up and coming artists to check out?

Ahmet Sisman. Kink. Very glad we had Maetric at the beginning of our events. Someone who is not just an upcoming artist anymore. Looking forward to Kabuto and Koji, having released for some of the most praised labels out there including Cocoon, Get Physical, and many others. These guys are sure to continue on their road of international success.
